Hues of luxe; a dabble with pastels.

Exploring Contrasts

In the South of France.

I'm the kind of person that defines a day of defoliating pot plants and staring at sticks & ticks and onions and rusted iron as a luxury. Naturally, knowing this about me, you'd understand better why visiting and wine tasting and cheese hoarding in France was the equivalent to having won some sort of cool lottery!

One thing I truly love about the Mediterranean and the aesthetic of that region is how gorgeous and creamy pastels turn up in photographs, oh yeah, and the food.  Though these photos were taken thousands of shutter clicks ago, it has been quite incredible witnessing my own transformation as an artist in this field.   I feel even more pressure to pay attention to how color is depicted on photographs. This is what happens when you insist at something. You almost become a bit of a fanatic. An examiner of sorts. Obsessed with training the eye and trying to really understand and know why and what elements make a photograph 'good'.

Shared with you in this post is an assortment. A couple I think are good, and the rest because who doesn't love dreamy Mediterranean pastels ;P

Thank you for keeping your colors pastel-eee, and jolly and tan, too <3

Ps...Oh but there's more. Check back soon for more deliciousness from the set of EMPATH, a short film written and directed by North Carolina native, Emily Bodley <3
